5 Mistakes Newbies Make When They Build Their First Gaming PC

Hello Friends,

If you are coming from Console gaming or you are just new to gaming in general and decide to build your first gaming PC you should find this post useful -I hope- here I'll list the most common mistakes newbies make when they build their own first gaming PC, so let's get straight to the point.

1. Buy the latest and greatest PC parts

This is the most common mistakes newbies do, some people out there still believe that in order to play games on a PC you should spend 2000$ to 3000$ which isn't right, yeah sure you can spend that kind of money on gaming PC but if you just wanna game at good or decent frame rate you don't need these overkill parts, You can build a PC for 700$ to 800$ or may be less and you will get a decent gaming experience.

2. Buy Overkill Power Supply

I have a friend who is trying to build his first PC, he choose the parts on PC Part Picker his build was a mid range PC but the choice of his power supply was 1000w which is way to overkill for his build, he can get away with 500w to 600w, also when I look to other people build I notice the overkill Power supply for their build, some people said that the overkill power supply will be useful when they upgrade any of the computer parts later, yeah sure it is true, but I notice that they always choose the way to much for the build even with a future upgrade.

3. Buy the wrong Monitor

If you build a PC that is capable of doing let's say 120 to 140 fps on average on some games and you decide to get a 60hrz Monitor, you are just bottleneck your PC with that monitor, the right one should be 144hrz and of course the vice versa, if your PC get 50 to 60fps on average that 144hrz will be overkill for the build.

4. Don't Pay attention to the input parts (Mouse, Keyboard and controller)

Don't cheap on input parts specially the mouse, of course you will find an overkill gaming mouse that cost tons of money and no I don't encourage you to buy those but at the same time don't get at 10$ mouse if you want a good gaming experience, get a decent mid range mouse and If you will use your new computer for typing I highly recommend a mechanical keyboard - I will write a post in the future about the different between mechanical keyboard switches - but basically you can get a red switches mechanical keyboard, it is great for gaming and it is my favorite typing switches for me personally, so yeah input devices are important to for a decent gaming experience.

5. Spend all the budget on PC parts and forget about the games

Just don't forget if you are on a budget and you spend it all on the parts, you will end up getting a pc without games, so make sure to save for the actual games itself, I actually did that mistake when I build my PC for the first time, I got a shiny good performance PC and installed steam and I remember that I didn't save to buy any games, I got stuck with free games for awhile. although there is a great free games on steam but at some point you need to play a games that you must pay for.
